District Finalists and State Qualifiers 2017
Two Nevada Middle School entries qualified for state competition, and six entries were named finalists at the District History Day held March 29 at Central College in Pella.
Kyle Dieter was selected as a State History Day qualifier for his website “Tiananmen Square.” Jack Chandler and Ayden Rhodes are also State History Day qualifiers for their website “Dr. Bennet Omalu.”
In addition, six entries were selected as finalists in the their category: Nora Engstrom for her exhibit “American Eugenics”; Aubrey Gibson and Sydney Mosinski for their exhibit “Iowa Girls’ Basketball”; Bianca Sponseller and Ashlynn Sporrer for their exhibit “Temple Grandin”; Grace Heiden and Hannah Thompsen for their exhibit “Roe v. Wade”; Averie Dobson and Gabrielle Owen for their exhibit “Jane Goodall” and Charlie Adams for her paper "Walter Cronkite."
